Working Principle

The tubular bowl centrifuge operates on the principle of centrifugal separation:

The bowl spins at extremely high speeds (often 10,000–30,000 rpm), generating a strong centrifugal force many times greater than gravity.

● Separation by Density

    • Denser solid particles move outward toward the wall of the bowl.

    • Lighter liquid components stay closer to the axis of rotation.

● Continuous or Batch Discharge

    • The clarified liquid is collected from the center or top of the bowl.

    • Solids accumulate along the bowl wall and are either removed continuously (in some designs) or manually discharged in batches.

● Optional Features

    • Some tubular centrifuges include nozzle or valve systems for controlled discharge of solids.

    • Cooling or heating jackets can be used for temperature-sensitive materials.
